To: New People

This is for those who haven't read or watched "I Am Number Four".

The Gardes (The Numbers) and their Cêpan (their protectors) were beings from the planet Lorien. The Gardes have Legacies, special powers, and the Cêpan's job was to protect them, teach them their history, tutor them, and help them train and develop their Legacies. That was how planet Lorien was run- the leaders, the Cêpan, and the defenders, the Gardes.

Lorien was a beautiful, lush place filled with natural resources, and the creatures and people there thrived. However, a nearby planet, Mogare, was destroyed by their own people- polluted, dirtied, and intoxicated. They needed more resources. And the only way they knew they could get them was to take over the only planet that had everything they needed. That planet was Lorien. The Mogarians had their own powers, unlike the ones the Gardes had, and their own huge army that was twice the size of the peace-loving Loric (which was not surprising, seeing as Mogare was twice the size of Lorien). They took over Lorien easily with their huge army, weaponry, and monsters, and they raided all the supplies, killed all the people... that is, except 18 of them.

When the planet was nearly destroyed, nine children, all Gardes, were born with special and more powerful Legacies. They fled with their Cêpan to their second-most alike planet, Earth, and hid there. They knew the Mogarians would come for Earth next, not for its resources, but for the planet itself (Or at least, the Cêpan did). It would destroy all the people, then claim the planet which was five times the size of theirs. The children, when they fled to Earth, were no older than 5 years old when they left. Soon, the Mogarians were after them- because they were the only things standing between them and their domination of Earth. They were bound by a charm, a charm that protected each Garde, made them invulnerable against the Mogarians unless they were killed in order. The charm would only be broken if two or more of them were together. However, the more Gardes there were together, the stronger they were, the more capable they were of fighting and defeating the Mogarians, saving Earth, and reclaiming Lorien.

The Gardes were hidden all around the world, separated from each other until their Legacies began to develop at around the age of 15. They needed to be protected by their Cêpan until they knew how to fight. Then, they could be allowed to start finding the others, the only other eight of their kind that could destroy the Mogarian Army. The Cêpan's job would be to guide them on their way and prepare them for the inevitable war that determined Earth's - and their - fate. Their job was to fight to the death to defend their Garde, to teach them the ways, and grow them into warriors. Some Cêpan have already died, some Cêpan are still guarding their Garde with their lives. But now the time has come for the Nine to find each other once more. It is time for them to come together, face the Mogarians, and finally take back what is theirs.
